Cookie policy

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. It can, for example, remember your choices or keep you signed in to your account.

The cookies we use

The table below lists the cookies used by farovpn.com and account.farovpn.com. Cookies that are strictly necessary for the service you request or its security, as well as those that remember your cookie choices, may be used without prior consent if they serve only these purposes. External videos load only with your consent (see below).

When you pay on the Stripe Checkout page, Stripe may set cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud. Stripe’s cookie policy describes how they are used.

Videos (with your consent)

Our videos are hosted by YouTube (Google) and Vimeo. They load only if you accept the “Videos” category in the cookie settings or click “Load video” for the video concerned. We use YouTube through youtube-nocookie.com and Vimeo with the dnt=1 parameter (“do not track”). When a video loads, the service hosting it receives your IP address and may set cookies or store data on your device. You can read the privacy policies of Google and Vimeo. Your choices in the cookie settings are saved for 6 months. The “Manage cookies” link in the footer lets you reopen these settings and change your choices.

Analytics and advertising

We currently use no analytics tool, no advertising cookies and no social media buttons that track you. If that changes, we will ask for your consent before setting anything, with a “Reject all” button as visible as “Accept all”, and you will be able to change your mind at any time.

Managing your choices

The “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page reopens the choice window. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings; the CNIL explains how at cnil.fr (in French). Blocking the necessary cookies may stop you signing in to your account.
