VPN extension for Chrome: an HTTPS proxy

An HTTPS proxy for the browser on your computer. It encrypts your tabs’ traffic up to the server and changes the IP address sites see, without touching other apps.

How it works

What is a proxy extension?

The extension sets your browser to go through a FaroVPN server. The link between the browser and the server is encrypted over HTTPS, and sites see the server’s IP address. The rest of the computer (email, games, updates) doesn’t go through the extension.
  • Covers the browser’s tabs
  • Doesn’t cover other apps
  • Doesn’t use VLESS Reality

When to use it

When to pick the extension

The extension is handy when a full app isn’t possible or isn’t needed.
  • A work computer where you can’t install apps

Frequently asked questions

Is the extension a VPN?
No. It’s an HTTPS proxy: it covers the browser, not the whole computer.
Is it included in my subscription?
Yes, in every plan.
Is there an extension for Safari or for mobile?
No. The extensions are for Chrome, Firefox and Edge on computers. On a Mac with Safari, or on a phone, install an app.
Why is the Firefox extension on your site?
Firefox lets you install a signed extension from its publisher’s website. We publish it on farovpn.com so we don’t depend on a store.
Can I use the extension and the app at the same time?
There’s no need: when the app is connected, the browser already goes through the tunnel. Turn the extension off in that case.
Does the extension work on filtered networks?
It runs over HTTPS, which is enough on many networks. On heavily filtered networks, use an app with VLESS Reality.
